My dear Yukimura-han. I hate to tell you this but feelings are only very rarely rational. Your friend has to deal with somebody coming into your life and filling a spot he does not occupy. Insecurity, tesentment and even jealousy are not that uncommon a reaction to this. It marks after all a turning point toward adulthood. Assure him of his place in your affections and I am sure he will come to at first at least grudgingly accept the fact that you are a grown man who will see other people to give you things your friend can not. Again this process will become easier over time when he understands that just like you have something with Adrian he does not share in there is something between such old friends that Adrian has no share in.
